Job description

Gunnison Copper-formerly Excelsior Mining has an immediate employment opportunity at its operations at Johnson Camp Mine / Gunnison Project located in southeastern Arizona between the cities of Benson and Willcox.

Job Title: Leach Field Operator Assistant
Under the supervision of the Leaching Supervisor, the Leach Field Operator Assistant leads and supports operations, installation of piping and maintenance of the heap leach pad.
Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with SX plant operations in shut-down and start-up of solution distribution when needed
  • Perform day-to-day installation and maintenance of heap leach lines
  • Conduct solution application flow rate measurements
  • Maintain work area and equipment to ensure a clean and safe work environment
  • Prepare and maintain records according to job assignment
  • Produce maintenance requests and work orders from work area inspection sheets
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations (EPA, ADEQ, MSHA etc.)
  • Lead and participate in safety meetings within the department
  • Assist HSE with rework of SOP’s as needed
  • Performs all duties in a safe and professional manner
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of experience in leach operation, preferably in a mining environment, preferred Prior supervisor experience preferred
  • Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently with minimal supervision, required

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of experience in leach operation, preferably in a mining environment, preferred Prior supervisor experience preferred
  • Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently with minimal supervision, required.
  • Strong communication skills
  • May be required to work varying shifts.
