Our client is seeking a DBA I (Field Installer) to support a large-scale, multi-year physical security infrastructure modernization program. This field-focused role serves as the onsite representative during security system upgrades and hardware refresh initiatives across multiple locations, including North Carolina, Florida, and Midwest territories. The position requires significant travel (50-90% depending on project phase) and close collaboration with third-party installers, integrators, field technicians, and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with physical security technologies such as Video Management Systems (VMS), Network Video Recorders (NVRs), and Physical Access Control Systems (PACS), as well as a strong background in field service, installation, or integration of security systems. The role demands excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of jobsite safety, and the ability to manage responsibilities across multiple project sites and environments.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Serve as the onsite liaison and representative during physical security system upgrade and hardware refresh projects.
  • Support a large-scale program involving the replacement and migration of over 100 NVR servers across multiple locations.
  • Conduct site safety briefings and ensure all personnel adhere to established safety protocols and jobsite requirements; ensure PPE is worn onsite.
  • Coordinate activities among internal stakeholders, contractors, integrators, and field technicians.
  • Monitor project execution, escalate issues, delays, or safety concerns as needed, and verify work completion against scope and operational requirements.
  • Assist with testing, validation, and commissioning of security systems following installation or equipment replacement.
  • Program and configure Physical Access Control System (PACS) devices, including card readers, monitor points, input/output devices, and associated security hardware.
  • Configure and support Video Management Systems (VMS), including NVR platforms, cameras, and video analytics solutions.
  • Troubleshoot PACS and VMS hardware and software issues.
  • Perform system testing and validation to ensure components are functioning properly and communicating successfully across the security environment.
  • Maintain clear communication regarding project status, challenges, and milestones with all stakeholders.
  • Travel extensively (50-90%) to support project deployments and site activities, with frequent walking and time spent in active field and construction environments.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with field technicians, contractors, and site personnel.
  • Partner with field technicians during installation, commissioning, and turnover activities.

WHAT YOU BRING
  • Experience working with physical security systems, including PACS and VMS platforms.
  • Hands-on field experience supporting security system installations, upgrades, maintenance, or integration projects.
  • Experience programming, configuring, or administering access control and/or video management systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot physical security hardware and software components.
  • Strong understanding of jobsite safety practices and working in active field environments.
  • Effective communication skills with technical teams, contractors, and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities across multiple project locations.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively (50-90% as required), especially during the first six months of the project.
  • Experience with NVR migrations, server replacements, or enterprise video management deployments (preferred).
  • Background with security integrators, installers, or physical security organizations (preferred).
  • Understanding of networking concepts related to security systems (preferred).
  • Experience coordinating vendors or supporting project execution in a field environment (preferred).
  • Prior experience balancing both administrative and field responsibilities (preferred).
  • Exposure to large-scale infrastructure or utility industry projects (preferred).

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU
  • Opportunity to work on a high-impact, multi-year security modernization program.
  • Extensive field experience across diverse locations and environments.
  • Collaborative work with industry-leading security professionals and integrators.
  • Competitive hourly compensation.
  • Potential for professional growth in physical security and field operations.
