What is a field guide?

A Field Guide is a professional responsible for leading and educating guests on outdoor excursions, typically in wildlife reserves, national parks, or adventure tourism settings. They provide information on local ecosystems, wildlife behavior, and conservation efforts while ensuring the safety and enjoyment of participants. Field Guides often possess specialized knowledge in tracking, survival skills, and first aid. Their role may also involve driving safari vehicles, setting up camps, or assisting with research.
