Company Description:
IS International Services LLC (IS) is a uniquely qualified business providing engineering services to customers of varying size and industry. We offer both engineering and project consulting services. Our engineers specify control system hardware, software design, along with I&C and electrical design on in-house projects. We specialize in system integration including PLC and DCS programming with expertise in many different platforms. Our process experience ranges from power generation, power transmission, factory automation, to oil and gas process automation.

Senior Automation Engineer - Moore APACS Specialist
Location: Greater Metro Atlanta Area (Hybrid / On-site options available)
Role Overview
We are seeking an elite Automation Specialist for a critical role focused heavily on our legacy instrumentation footprint. This position requires deep, authoritative knowledge of Moore APACS Distributed Control Systems (DCS). You will be the point person for stabilizing, optimizing, and eventually mapping out the lifecycle strategy for these legacy architectures across our regional manufacturing facilities. Because this requires a highly specialized skill set, we are offering top-of-market compensation to secure the right expert.
Key Responsibilities
• Moore APACS Mastery: Serve as the primary Subject Matter Expert for all legacy Moore APACS hardware, control loops, and configuration issues.
• 4-Mation Logic & Programming: Program, modify, and troubleshoot system code daily using APACS 4-mation software tools.
• Legacy Architecture Support: Maintain and optimize specialized APACS components, including Profibus PFM cards, industrial MODBUS setups, and legacy communication modules.
• HMI Management: Support and upgrade associated HMI systems, specifically Wonderware Process Suite, ensuring seamless data flow between legacy control layers and operations.
• System Optimization: Analyze existing APACS logic diagrams to resolve complex runtime errors, minimize operational downtime, and maximize loop efficiency.
• Modernization Planning: Lead technical readiness assessments for the eventual migration of APACS hardware to next-generation platforms (e.g., Siemens PCS 7) while preserving existing field wiring.
Requirements
• Dedicated APACS Background: Minimum 5 to 7+ years of direct, verified experience configuring and troubleshooting Moore APACS DCS infrastructure.
• Software Fluency: Expert-level mastery of APACS 4-mation configuration software, logic compilers, and network builders.
• Legacy-to-Modern Integration: Proven experience bridging legacy Moore hardware with newer industrial networks or modern PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley ControlLogix).
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Systems Engineering is preferred, though equivalent, extensive field experience with Moore APACS systems will be fully accepted in lieu of a formal degree.
Benefits
Compensation & Premium Benefits
• Top-Tier Salary: Premium base pay explicitly scaled to reflect the rare and specialized nature of your legacy APACS skillset.
• Financial Perks: Immediate 401(k) matching up to 6%, annual performance bonuses, and a relocation assistance package for candidates moving to the Atlanta area.
• Comprehensive Care: Full medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage starting on day one.
• Work-Life Balance: Generous paid time off (PTO), flexible scheduling, and paid training for modern platform certifications
