We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a pay rate of $27.72/hr. however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline. Benefits offered may include health care, dental, vision, life insurance; 401(k); education assistance; paid time off including PTO, holidays, and any other paid leave required by law.
Job Description:
- Assist in planting, pollinating, harvesting, threshing, shipping, weeding, preparing fields, preparing seed, sampling, detasseling, rogueing, and other field and seed activities related to crops and fields.
- May operate a tractor, combine, or harvester.
- The majority of field labor activities occur outdoors.
- Contractor must be able to lift weights over 25lbs, be able to stand for prolonged periods of time, handle repetitive job tasks, and have the ability to perform tasks at waist level and below (bending over).
- May drive a company vehicle to bring materials and equipment to and from work sites/fields.
- May operate farming equipment such as a sprayer or thresher.
- Assist in the maintenance and improvement of the farms and assets.
- Provide support for the client's Safety program by adhering to all safety policies and attendance at regular company sponsored safety meetings.
- Assist by carrying out other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Activities will require bending and lifting, long periods of sitting or standing.
- Extended hours or shift work may be requested during the peak seasons.
- Must be able to read and write, to understand verbal and written task and safety instructions delivered in English, and to perform assigned tasks accurately.
- Must be able to adhere to all client SOPs when carrying out assigned tasks and to support all site safety requirements.
- Must be able to function as a team member, and to take daily direction from supervisors and managers.
- Outdoor conditions cannot be controlled and therefore the worker will be exposed to uneven walking/working surfaces, mud, insects, heat and cold extremes, and the sun.
