Summary/Objective

Blackwatch International is seeking an enthusiastic Fiber Optic Assembler to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with our network installation team.

The Fiber Optic Network Assembler position is considered entry level, but the ideal candidates will have knowledge in the following areas: fiber optic cabling installations, splicing, polishing, cleaving, connecting, fusion splicing, testing, terminations (fusion and mechanical), electro-mechanical connectorization, assembling and documenting fiber optic, CAT 6, and Coax cabling. Fiber and copper maintenance, emergency restoration, inspection services, and troubleshooting while adhering industry standards and installation techniques.

Operating in the Ridgecrest/China Lake area, this role is critical to maintaining military base operational readiness. The selected candidate will support the installation of network infrastructure ensuring network availability while maintaining strict environmental compliance under California high-desert regulatory bodies.

Minimum Qualifications

โ€ข Self-motivated and ability to work with minimal supervision.

โ€ข Excellent verbal and written communication.

โ€ข Ability to organize, prioritize and and handle multiple tasks.

โ€ข Flexibly to work or train on new tasks in a dynamic environment.

โ€ข Basic Networking skills to include setting up and connecting network devices.

โ€ข Technical aptitude, ability, and desire to learn new networking skills.

  3. Conducting testing with Corning, EXFO, and Fluke testers; CAT 6, Coax, and fiber optic cabling; fiber and copper maintenance.
  4. Assisting with design/engineering of Internet Service Provider (ISP)/ Operating Service Provider (OSP) projects and fiber optic cabling documentation โ€“ OSP Insight.
  5. Operating test equipment for evaluating fiber optic and copper connected components, sensors and systems.
  6. Working with Corning, EXFO, Fujikura, Sumitomo ABF, and Fluke Networking equipment, Cat 6, Coax, and fiber optic cabling.
  7. Fiber and copper maintenance, emergency restoration, inspections services, trouble shooting, fiber documentation, industry standards, and installation techniques
