Job description

Currently looking to add experienced Field Service Technicians and are also willing to train the right individual for our South Florida locations. We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, PTO (paid time off), paid training and a company cellphone.

Description of responsibilities (But not limited to):

  • Fiber optics services (Installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting fiber is a plus)
  • Physically install UTP copper, fiber optic, and other audio and video cable.
  • Physically install active and passive voice, video, and data hardware
  • Installation of outlets, pulling cable, fire stopping and pre-termination, including organizing, forming, dressing, and labeling cables to industry standards
  • Terminate, assemble, and install a variety of connectors
  • Accurately test copper and fiber (multimode and single mode) cables to required standards utilizing the appropriate test equipment
  • Perform cable splices for copper and fiber (mechanical and fusion)
  • Network cabling and wiring
  • Demolition and removal of abandoned cables
  • Effectively and safely operating a wide array of tools
  • Reference industry standards including ANSI, EIA/TIA, and local and National Electric Standards

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in voice, data, and video cabling
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of the communications industry (voice, data, and fiber optics)
  • Ability to read floor plans, equipment layouts, control diagrams, line diagrams, and other architectural, mechanical, and electrical plans
  • The ability to work well in a dynamic, fast changing environment
  • The ability to multi-task with minimal supervision
  • Computer knowledge and ability to complete proper paperwork
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Good driving record required
  • BICSI Installer / Technician Certification a plus
  • Ability to work extended hours
  • Ability to work nights and weekends if needed
  • Position requires daily travel to work sites
