Job description

Celerity Integrated Services, a telecommunications /construction company based in Quakertown, PA, is currently looking for a full-time experienced Fiber Optic Splicer. Celerity provides free health insurance for all full-time employees.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
โ€ข Familiar with various fiber optic splice enclosures and termination panels.
โ€ข Responsible for prepping and splicing various types of fiber cables (OSP, ADSS & OPGW).
โ€ข Testing of fiber optic infrastructure.
โ€ข OTDR testing, power meter testing and Fiber Identifier.
โ€ข Troubleshoot and check for problems and errors.
โ€ข Install equipment per scope
โ€ข Follow applicable safety regulations and company policies
โ€ข Must advocate a team player approach to position.
โ€ข Be able to complete a Daily Performance Report (DPR) in accurate timeline format
โ€ข Be available for On-call situations
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid PA Driver's License
  • Must be able to perceive differences in wire and cable colors.
  • 0-1 years of experience in Outside Plant Fiber Optic Fusion Splicing and Testing or an equivalent of training and experience.
  • Basic knowledge in fiber cable technologies, structure, and handling a plus
  • General knowledge of electrical processes a plus
  • Must have strong attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Must be computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office.
  • Provide and maintain personal automobile insurance.

Physical and Other Requirements:
This position may require overtime, flexible hours and some weekends. This position requires the ability to lift heavy equipment (75+ pounds), climb poles, crawl into small spaces, and work at heights. The ability to distinguish colors and shades is also required.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Incumbent must be able to adhere to an on-call schedule which may include holidays and/or weekends. Overtime and overnight may be required on an as-needed basis.
Travel
Travel is required on an as-needed basis. Incumbent must be able to travel and stay overnight when required.
