Principle duties and essential functions
  • Component qualification of optoelectronic transmitter and receiver components in the high-gigabit range (10 Gbit/s and higher)
  • Component qualification of specialized electronic components (CDR, EDC, FEC)
  • Evaluation and implementation of modern modulation schemes
  • Research in the field of cutting-edge optical and optoelectronic technologies with the goal of commercialization
  • Management and execution of optical development projects
  • Cross-departmental technical support
Knowledge, skills and experience required
  • Completed degree or vocational training in telecommunications engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or a related field
  • Knowledge and experience in the following areas are an advantage: Design of optical networks for high-bit-rate data transmission (fiber optics)
  • Transmission protocols in telecommunications
  • Optical transmitter and receiver components, filters, amplifiers
