Job Summary:

The Fiber Drop Installer will have intermediate knowledge of internet technology to learn fiber installation, drop installation, in home internet installation. The ideal candidate will have some knowledge of internet technology, fiber technology with a willingness to learn it at a deep level. Knowledge and the ability to run light industrial equipment such as small trenchers are necessary. Highline will teach you how to professionally perform in home installations of broadband services, equipment, and associated fiber and technology.

This position requires working outside and indoors and requires the use of light industrial equipment. 


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Use small industrial equipment for trenching in yards
  • Develop, maintain, and utilize knowledge of splicing fiber optic cable
  • Learn in home installation of company broadband and accompanying services
  • Assist Network Team with installation of services within the premise
  • Run fiber optic and network cable through conduit

Competencies:


  • Understanding of internet and router technology
  • Knowledge of network technologies
  • Experience operating and working aloft in an aerial lift is preferred
  • Experience running cable inside of homes and businesses
  • Experience with IoT, Smart Home devices and technologies
  • Ability to safely work outside in hot and cold weather
  • Ability to communicate with customers in a professional manner and deliver world class customer service
  • Must be conscientious about a clean work environment while working at customer premises
  • Must be able to complete paperwork accurately and timely
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights of 200 feet (Applicable to Wireless Operations)
  • Ability to safely use small hand tools

Physical Requirements:

  • Perform work in all weather conditions, in customer’s homes, outdoors, and indoors.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings (Drug and Background).
