Lead Cannabis Cultivator / Head Grower Opportunity

Are you an experienced Head Grower, Lead Cultivator, or Cannabis Cultivation Manager looking to take the next step in your cannabis career?

A licensed cannabis cultivation facility in Minnesota is seeking a highly skilled Head Grower / Lead Cultivator to oversee all aspects of commercial cannabis cultivation operations. This leadership role is responsible for maximizing plant health, crop quality, cannabinoid production, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and team performance across a large-scale cultivation facility.

This is an exciting opportunity for a cannabis professional with expertise in indoor cultivation, greenhouse cultivation, plant nutrition, environmental controls, IPM, genetics selection, harvest management, and cultivation team leadership.

What You'll Do

As the Head Grower and Cultivation Manager, you will oversee the entire cannabis cultivation lifecycle, including:

Cannabis Cultivation Leadership
  • Lead all phases of cannabis production, including propagation, cloning, vegetative growth, flowering, harvesting, drying, curing, and post-harvest processes
  • Develop and implement cultivation strategies that improve yield, potency, terpene profiles, and overall product quality
  • Establish and maintain cultivation SOPs, workflows, and best practices
  • Manage daily cultivation operations to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance
Plant Health & Crop Management
  • Monitor and optimize plant health throughout the cultivation cycle
  • Develop nutrient and fertigation programs for maximum performance
  • Manage irrigation systems, environmental controls, HVAC systems, lighting schedules, and climate conditions
  • Identify and resolve nutrient deficiencies, diseases, pests, and environmental stressors
  • Implement and maintain comprehensive Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs
Production & Yield Optimization
  • Analyze cultivation data and production metrics to improve operational performance
  • Forecast harvest schedules and coordinate production timelines
  • Evaluate new cannabis genetics, cultivation methods, and emerging technologies
  • Continuously improve cultivation processes to maximize efficiency and profitability
Compliance & Inventory Management
  • Ensure compliance with all Minnesota cannabis cultivation regulations and licensing requirements
  • Maintain accurate cultivation records and inventory tracking
  • Utilize METRC or other seed-to-sale tracking systems
  • Support audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting requirements
Team Leadership & Development
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise cultivation staff
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching and development opportunities
  • Collaborate with operations, processing, and leadership teams to achieve production goals
Required Qualifications
  • 3-5+ years of commercial cannabis cultivation experience
  • Proven experience as a Head Grower, Lead Cultivator, Master Grower, Cultivation Manager, Grow Operations Manager, or Senior Cannabis Cultivator
  • Experience managing indoor cultivation, greenhouse cultivation, or mixed-light cultivation facilities
  • Strong knowledge of cannabis plant biology, nutrient management, irrigation systems, lighting technologies, and environmental controls
  • Hands-on experience implementing Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs
  • Experience with METRC or other seed-to-sale compliance software
  • Strong leadership, team management, and operational planning skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, production-focused cultivation environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in cultivation environments as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Horticulture, Plant Science, Agriculture, Agronomy, Greenhouse Management, or a related field
  • Experience leading high-volume commercial cannabis cultivation facilities
  • Knowledge of fertigation systems, automation technology, environmental monitoring systems, and cultivation software
  • Experience scaling cultivation operations and implementing process improvements
  • Knowledge of cannabis genetics, breeding programs, and phenotype selection
