Description

Capitol is seeking a dependable and hardworking Material Handler to support operations in both our Vinyl Shop and Gate Shop. This position will split time as needed between fabricating gates, picking and packing customer orders, and installing chain link fencing onto gate frames. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, comfortable working in a warehouse and production environment, and experienced operating forklifts and material handling equipment.

This is a physically demanding position requiring standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, and lifting throughout the workday.


Pay: $20-$23 an hour



All the responsibilities we will trust you with:

  • Move freight, inventory, and materials throughout the warehouse, production areas, and yard using forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other equipment.
  • Safely load and unload flatbed and box trucks.
  • Split time between the Vinyl Shop and Gate Shop based on production needs.
  • Assist with fabricating vinyl and chain link gates.
  • Install chain link fencing onto gate frames according to specifications.
  • Pick, pack, stage, and prepare customer orders for shipment or delivery.
  • Sort and organize materials before loading and unloading.
  • Apply identifying tags, labels, and inventory tracking information to materials and containers.
  • Stack and store cargo in designated warehouse and yard locations.
  • Install protective devices such as bracing, padding, and strapping to prevent damage during transport.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials moved and inventory transactions.
  • Guide loads being lifted to prevent shifting or swinging.
  • Prepare shipping materials and repack damaged containers as needed.
  • Retrieve and return tools, equipment, and supplies used during daily operations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse, fabrication area, and yard.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and equipment operating guidelines.
  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Perform other warehouse, fabrication, and material handling duties as assigned.
