Gillaspie Fencing is looking for hardworking, dependable, and motivated Fence Installers / General Laborers to join our growing team. If you enjoy working outdoors, take pride in building quality projects, and want to learn a skilled trade with opportunities for advancement, we'd love to meet you. Welding experience helpful. Whether you have fencing experience or are eager to learn, we provide hands-on training for individuals with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.

As a Fence Installer, you'll work alongside experienced crew members installing residential, commercial, and agricultural fencing while delivering outstanding craftsmanship and customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Install a barbed wire fencing.
  • Measure job sites and assist with layout according to project specifications.
  • Dig post holes using hand tools, power augers, and other equipment.
  • Set fence posts with concrete and ensure proper alignment and spacing.
  • Install rails, pickets, panels, gates, hardware, and accessories.
  • Operate construction equipment and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Load, unload, transport, and organize fencing materials and equipment.
  • Perform demolition and removal of existing fences when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
  • Read work orders and follow installation plans accurately.
  • Work efficiently as part of a team to complete projects on schedule.
  • Communicate professionally with customers while on-site.
  • Perform general labor duties including lifting, carrying materials, site cleanup, and equipment maintenance.
  • Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures.
  • Assist with additional construction or repair projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous fence installation, construction, landscaping, carpentry, or general labor experience preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong work ethic with dependable attendance.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly.
  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
  • Ability to work on uneven terrain and perform physically demanding work.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well with a team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening if required.
