Our team of doctors, advanced care providers, nurses, therapists and researchers provide the region's most advanced medicine at multiple facilities, campuses, clinics and classrooms. Responsibilities
Abides by and enforces all hospital policies and procedures, including those pertaining to confidentiality; provides anesthetic to patients undergoing operative or invasive procedures, scheduled or emergent: general anesthetic, regional anesthetic, IV block, monitored anesthesia care; provides perioperative anesthetic management for all groups and risk categories; performs preoperative anesthetic assessment, interprets data, and formulates anesthetic plan; assembles equipment and supplies for anesthetic and performs safety check of equipment; uses proper technique, titration, and administration of all anesthetic drugs including controlled substances; performs intraoperative evaluation with continuous visual and auditory monitoring of vital signs; places arterial lines, monitors and replaces fluids, blood, and blood products and other intravenous fluids deemed necessary; administers medications including controlled substances by all routes; transports patient to recovery area and gives oral/written report of intraoperative course; performs postoperative evaluation of patient; provides patient or guardian with risks, benefits, and anesthetic plan; performs emergency care outside the operative setting including starting IV's, intubation, and airway management; places thermodilution and pulmonary artery catheters; maintains accurate and complete medical records by: completing pre-anesthesia evaluation, documenting a continuous, accurate, legible account of physiological and anesthetic status, completing Quality Management forms, and documenting postoperative evaluation notes; adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards; ability to respond to digital, voice, and overhead pages; available in hospital within thirty(30) minutes of call; accesses and accurately maintains electronic and paper medical records; regular and prompt attendance and the ability to work the schedule as defined and additional hours and call as required; related duties as required. Our department is a ACT model, with CRNA leadership. CRNA has a wide scope of practice including hemodynamic monitoring, regional anesthesia, Ultrasound, Placement of lines(Arterial and Central Lines). Call CRNA and Non Call CRNA both share in the waterfall scheduling. We have a strong cohesive culture of team work.
Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.

Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited school of nurse anesthesia meeting the minimum standards set by the State of Alabama, completion of an accredited course in anesthesia residency, licensure with the State of Alabama as a Registered Nurse and certification with the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists. New graduates are welcomed as well as experienced CRNA's.
