We are currently seeking a Grants Compliance & Monitoring Specialist. This position will be primarily remotely based with travel required to client sites as needed.

Position Summary:

The Grants Compliance & Monitoring Specialist will be responsible for evaluating federal grant programs, ensuring compliance with government regulations, and support clients through training and reporting. A successful candidate will have an environmental background and/or experience with climate and sustainability.

Responsibilities for the Grants Compliance & Monitoring Specialist Include:

  • Evaluate client and sub-recipient activities (e.g., program expenditures, financial statements, and program activity narratives, etc.) and assess program effectiveness, efficiency, and alignment with applicable compliance requirements and federal regulations.

  • Execute analytical activities as requested by the client, while fielding responses to sub-recipient inquiries.

  • Create templates, forms, tools, and other resources (e.g., presentations, webinars, frequently asked questions FAQ documents, or personalized training programs) to support client and sub-recipient adherence to compliance requirements and federal regulations.

  • Develop and lead trainings and presentations for internal and external audiences, including governments and sub-recipients.

  • Research, analyze, and maintain working knowledge of program requirements and policies, including federal and local regulations, laws, and guidance.

  • Draft management- and client-level reports, memorandums, letters, and documents to maintain informed stakeholders and provide recommendations on best practices.

Qualifications for the Grants Compliance & Monitoring Specialist Include:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in public administration, accounting, finance, public policy, political science, or a related field of study.

  • At least three (3) years of work experience working on federal grant programs, such as Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) grants, United States (US) Treasury Grants, or US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grants, or other federal grant award programs.

  • Substantial familiarity with Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200) and knowledge of federal grant award regulations and laws.

  • Program monitoring knowledge and experience including the ability to review and analyze program documents to determine compliance adherence and develop corrective action recommendations.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Adobe.

Compensation for the Grants Compliance & Monitoring Specialist Includes:

  • Salary range of $85,000 - $120,000. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and training, licensure and certifications, internal equity, location, travel requirements, and other business and organizational needs.
