Job description

Position Summary:

Safe Life Defense is seeking a skilled Seamstress to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for garment construction and a strong understanding of sewing techniques. This role involves working with various fabrics to fabricate high-quality body armor carriers, ensuring that all products meet our standards of excellence. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, proficiency with industrial sewing machines, and the ability to follow technical patterns and instructions.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate industrial sewing machines to produce tactical gear and body armor components.
  • Assemble products by sewing, stitching, and attaching various materials (e.g., fabric, Velcro, webbing).
  • Follow detailed patterns, instructions, and quality standards to ensure precise construction.
  • Work with heavy-duty materials and fabrics.
  • Inspect materials and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Identify and report defects or inconsistencies in products or materials.
  • Perform minor adjustments or repairs on products as needed.
  • Work closely with other seamstresses and production team members to meet manufacturing deadlines.
  • Maintain open communication with Managers and team leads regarding progress and challenges.
  • Follow all company safety protocols and guidelines while operating equipment.
  • Keep workstations clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience as a seamstress, sewing operator, or in a similar role is a must.
  • Experience with industrial sewing machines and heavy-duty materials is a plus.
  • Proficiency in sewing techniques, including stitching, hemming, and finishing.
  • Ability to read and follow patterns and detailed instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on producing high-quality products.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while meeting deadlines.
  • Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while operating sewing machines.
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 25 pounds.
