Delivery driver position available with FedEx Ground Contractor in Pompano Beach. 
Independent Service Provider for FedEX Ground seeks for qualified long-term individuals to drive with our team. Candidates must have minimum of one year experience driving mid-size truck or larger, must know to provide strong customer service, applicant must be able to pass a criminal background and be drug free, have a clean driving record, provide business or former employer references, positive mentality and must be approved by FedEx Ground. General Requirements:
• Must have a valid commercial driver's license with Doubles Endorsement.
• Must have a current DOT medical card.
• Must pass at DOT drug screen and be enrolled in a random drug screen program.
• Must have 1 years of verified previous employment history and drug and alcohol test results.
• Ensure application lists last 5 years of work history and reasons for leaving. Any gaps in employment must be explained.
• Must have the ability to speak and understand English as required for the position.
• Clean criminal record
Driving Experience:
• No violations of Careless/Negligent driving
• No more than 1 of the following violations in any motor vehicle:
• Failure to use (or improper use of) turn signal
• Improper passing or turning
• Improper or erratic lane changes
• Failure to obey traffic signs or signals
• Driving too fast for conditions
• Inattentive driving
• Excessive speeding (15mph above the posted speed limit)
• and No more than 3 moving violations of any kind
In the previous 5 years:
• No license suspensions or revocations due to moving violations
• No record of operating a vehicle with a suspended or revoked license
• No conviction of reckless driving In the previous 7 years:
• No driving under the influence (DWI)
• No leaving the scene of an accident
• No record of a moving violation in connection with a fatal accident
Violation definitions may vary from state to state. We will contact the risk management DOT compliance team if you have questions about a violation.
If a driver has more than a 30 day break in service a new MVR and drug screen must be done prior to their next assignment.
Drivers with pending violations that would disqualify them from working in a safety sensitive position will be suspended or not placed in a driving assignment until that pending violation is resolved.
MVR's are to be run each year as part of the annual review process.
Accident History
No more than 2 preventable accidents in the last 3 years.
• A preventable accident is one which occurs because the driver fails to act in a reasonably expected manner to prevent it. In judging whether the driver's actions were reasonable, one seeks to determine whether the driver drove defensively and demonstrated an acceptable level of skill and knowledge. The judgment of what is reasonable can be based on a company-adopted definition (client's or TDS review).
No DOT recordable accidents within the last year.
• In accordance with 49 C.F.R. Part 390.5, a recordable accident is defined as one or more of the following: (i) A fatality; (ii) Bodily injury to a person who, as a result of the injury, immediately receives medical treatment away from the scene of the accident; or (iii) One or more motor vehicles incurring disabling damage as a result of the accident, requiring the motor vehicle(s) to be transported away from the scene by a tow truck or other motor vehicle.
