Job description

Position Description: The shipping and receiving clerk position coordinates activities and is responsible for picking product and preparing it for shipping both nationally and internationally via expedited carrier services, common carrier, UPS, FedEx, daily shipments (milk run) and direct service line.

Position Responsibilities: Receiving, picking, and staging customer orders, returns, shipping and inventory organization, management, and control
Ensure accurate and timely shipment of parts and supplies through UPS, Fed Ex, Common Carrier, or other vendors
Ensure products are staged for counting and inspection
Ensure products are stored properly (5S) and comply with safety procedures
Maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment
Verifies merchandise received against record of shipment
Inspects and reports discrepancies and any obvious defects
Resolve discrepancies with shipping, invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports
Serve as the first point of contact answering and resolving customer questions and concerns.
Work with Accounts Payable to resolve any receipt/ invoice questions
Oversee the rotation of inventories within the warehouse
Accurately complete cycle counting and inventory adjustments
Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Shipping and Receiving Clerk - Ability to communicate and comprehend written and verbal procedures/signage in English for safe and proper material processing (including interpretation of Statement of Work and safety instructions)Basic written skills in English to complete applicable processing and safety documentation as needed.Basic mathematical skills for process tracking and production counts as needed.Able to perform repetitive and manual tasks on a consistent basis.High School Diploma or GEDAbility to safely operate machinery and equipment such as fork trucks and pass any safety test/licensing needed. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to noisy.

Physical Work - Ability exert 30 - 60 pounds of force occasionally, and or 20-30 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry push, pull, or otherwise move objects. The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
