Job Title:Weighmaster (Seasonal)

Payrate: $18.50/HR

Department:Scale House

Report To: Scale House Supervisor

Working Hours: 10:00AM-10:00PM or 11:00am-11:00PM, Schedule may vary depending on company needs.


JOB SUMMARY

Weighmaster will serve as the first point of contact for customers and haulers; initial inspection of loads, and ensure the safety of the haulers, and other employees through observation of safety rules and regulations. Weighmaster will also be responsible for collecting and filing the appropriate paperwork for all inbound and outbound shipments.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

•Greets customers, directs haulers and other traffic, and answers questions accurately.

•Ensures that incoming material is manifested, safe, and does not contain prohibited material.

•Obtains information regarding material entering facility to properly bill the customer and track the total amount and type of product entering the facility.

•Provides information to the customer, signs the shipping manifest, and documents the product entering the facility.

•Completes all administrative tasks including regular filing and completes required reports.

•Identifies and reports problems; gathers needed information to develop solutions.

•Reports customer and/or supplier problems to management and responds promptly to customer needs.

•Communicates with Sales & Logistics Manager, Grower Documentation Clerk, Facilities Supervisor, Grower Relations Supervisor and other operators in case of needing assistance or confirmation of shipments.

•Provides general housekeeping of the Scale House.

•Keeps Scale House Lead fully informed of all problems or matters requiring their attention.

•Follows and ensures adherence to established Grower Direct Nut Co., local, state, and federal regulations and requirements as well as food safety, sanitation, food production and nutritional guidelines.

•Established and ensures adherence to procedures and standards, which are in agreement with these regulations, requirements and guidelines.

•Checks all incoming packages (UPS, Fed Ex, Staples, etc.) log them and deliver packages to designated departments.



Requirements:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Will stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle and feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear, taste and smell.  
  • Will frequently sit and occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel crouch or crawl. 
  • Must use both hands for rapid mental muscular coordination, simultaneously.  
  • Must be able to reach high and low levels, frequently. 
  • Must be able to push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level up to 35 pounds frequently. 
  • Must lift with arms up to floor to waist, waist to shoulder 35 pounds. 
  • Must be able to constantly stand/stoop/walk/bend, up to 12 hrs.  
  • Ability to strenuous flex/grip with wrist/hands frequently (15 flexion/minute). 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • May work near moving mechanical parts.  
  • Works near loud traffic 
  • May work around wet or humid conditions, in high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold (non-weather), extreme heat (non-weather), risk of electrical shock, and/or risk of vibration.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

5.Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.

6.Knowledge of office equipment including but not limited to, computer, phone, copier, Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.

8.Ability to perform intermediate math functions.

9.Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.

10.Previous weighmaster experience.

11.Must have a valid California Driver’s License without restrictions.
