Summary/Objective

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer I to assist, support, and collaborate on the management and execution of a project safely and profitably.

The candidate will work with their assigned project manager to help achieve their respective project management objectives.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and implement project execution strategies

  • Maintain and communicate various project performance metrics and analytics

  • Provide leadership and support to functional area managers

  • Support forecasting and reporting

  • Act as a liaison between the superintendent and the subcontractors in coordinating the delivery date of materials by analyzing the schedule and the required installation dates.

  • Construction engineering

  • Work with subcontractors and vendors

  • Foster and maintain favorable relationships with project stake holders

  • Market and promote the Superior Construction brand

Supervisory Requirements

This position will have direct reports and supervisory requirements.

Work Environment

Additionally, a pressurized environment is the norm.

The employee will be working on heavy civil and highway construction sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to navigate rugged terrain, climb substantial heights, and work over and on water.

The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multilimbed coordination. The employee must have excellent stamina.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time exempt position. This position sometimes requires long hours.

Travel

The role will require up to 15% of travel.

Required Education and Experience

  • BS Construction, Engineering, or other relevant fields of study

  • Entry-level to four years of industry tenure

  • Field-based project execution experience

  • Knowledge of route surveying and scheduling

  • Safety Trained Supervisor Construction Certification

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Viewpoint experience a plus

Additional Eligibility Requirements

  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver's license before employment.
