Job description

Immediate need for a talented Senior Java Developer(with some Spark/Big Data experience). This is a 12 months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Jersey City, NJ(Hybrid). Please review the job description below and contact me ASAP if you are interested.

Pay Range: $60 - $68 /hour.  Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using Core Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.
  • Develop and optimize Big Data processing solutions using Apache Spark and Hadoop.
  • Build high-performance, low-latency applications for processing and analyzing large datasets.
  • Design and implement distributed data processing solutions in enterprise environments.
  • Optimize application performance, scalability, and resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver technical solutions.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application and data processing issues.
  • Follow software development best practices, including code reviews, testing, and documentation.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience: 

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Core Java development with strong object-oriented programming fundamentals.
  • Strong experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Spark and Hadoop.
  • Experience processing and managing large-scale datasets in distributed environments.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, multithreading, concurrency, and performance optimization.
  • Experience developing low-latency, high-throughput applications.
  • Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with Kafka or other messaging technologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and container technologies (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
