This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of Local, State, and Federal Government projects while further growing your technical expertise and leadership skills.

As a Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for the design of civil systems including grading, drainage, utilities, and hydrology for a wide range of site development projects. You will serve as the engineer of record for smaller, less complex projects, while continuing to work under the supervision of a senior engineer on larger, more complex efforts. This position offers exposure to multiple markets and geographies, allowing you to further expand your technical expertise and deepen your understanding of building systems design. Your responsibilities will include prepare engineering and stormwater management calculations, reports, and drawings, leading field investigations, and supporting construction administration activities such as reviewing shop drawings and providing responses to RFIs.

We are looking for a self-motivated professional with strong technical skills and the ability to manage tasks through various stages of design, from concept development to construction documents. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as you'll regularly interact with clients, peers, and junior team members.

What we offer:

We offer a competitive salary along with employee ownership through our ESOP program and work-from-home flexibility. Our generous benefits package includes multiple group health insurance options, a 401(k) plan with up to 6% matching, 24 days of paid time off (PTO), five paid holidays per year, tuition reimbursement, and additional perks.

We also prioritize work-life balance with benefits such as 80 hours of parental leave for the birth or adoption of a child, a hybrid work schedule, and accommodations for individuals with disabilities in roles requiring travel.

Requirements:

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution and be a Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Virginia, North Carolina, or able to obtain reciprocity within three months of hire. We are seeking individuals with 4-6 years of progressive experience in civil/site engineering design, along with proven proficiency using Autodesk Civil 3D. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively within a project team. Candidates must also be eligible to work in the United States and able to obtain a security clearance.

Desirable:

The ideal candidate will have experience with site development and stormwater management design, familiarity with environmental permitting processes, and knowledge of state and local regulations in Virginia.
