Job description

Be a part of the nationwide law enforcement initiative that removes the tools of crime from criminal organizations, depriving wrongdoers of proceeds from their crime and impacting the infrastructure of criminal enterprises.

FSA Federal (FSA) is focused on delivering unsurpassed services in support of law enforcement and homeland security. We currently have a potential vacancy for a Paralegal II. In this role, you will be supporting the overall mission of the United States Attorney's Office (USAO).

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with the organization and tracking of incoming documents and relatedcorrespondence, including but not limited to productions pursuant to subpoenas and civilinvestigative demands.
  • Maintain calendars of United States Attorney staff. Provide reminders of deadlines andmeetings.
  • Perform searches to locate potential witnesses.
  • Examine documents such as medical and financial records, reports, correspondence, andcomputer data.
  • Provide recommendations and overall assistance to United States Attorney staff withrespect to document compilation.
  • Conduct investigative research utilizing legal research tools with training provided byUnited States Attorney staff.
  • Prepare initial correspondence drafts and legal documents for attorney signature.
  • Prepare initial drafts of proposed orders to be sent to the U.S. District Court.
  • Scan/input case-related materials into electronic database.
  • Ensure all documents contain the proper format, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, andgrammar.
  • Assist the Affirmative Civil Enforcement (ACE) unit by ensuring a good workingrelationship with client agencies and the public.

Requirements:

  • Paralegal Certificate; or High School Diploma/GED with at least three-years' paralegal experience.
  • At least 2 years' legal or administrative experience.
  • Automated litigation support experience very helpful.
  • Basic paralegal knowledge, including knowledge of standard legal citation system sufficient to perform basic legal research.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools.
  • Hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, database, spreadsheet, and telecommunications.
  • Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure.
  • Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate

This position requires U.S. Citizenship and a 7 (or 10) year minimum background investigation.
