Janitor (Part-Time)

Location: Federal Courthouse, Jacksonville, FL
Job Type: Part-Time
Pay Rate: $17.75 per hour
Benefits: Benefits Eligible
Schedule: Various shifts available

Position Overview

Challenge Enterprises of North Florida, Inc. is seeking dependable and detail-oriented Janitorial Technicians to provide high-quality cleaning and sanitation services at the Federal Courthouse in Jacksonville, Florida.
In this role, you will help maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment while providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, enjoys working independently and as part of a team, and is committed to maintaining cleanliness, safety, and quality standards. Previous janitorial experience is helpful, but individuals with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

What You'll DoCleaning & Facility Maintenance
  • Vacuum, sweep, mop, and scrub floors, stairways, and other designated areas.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, countertops, toilets, mirrors, partitions, and fixtures.
  • Dust and clean office furniture, desks, windowsills, and common areas.
  • Empty trash receptacles, replace liners, and clean containers as needed.
  • Collect recyclable materials and transport them to designated collection areas.
  • Clean stairwells, basement parking garage, loading dock, dumpster area, and assigned exterior areas.
  • Maintain sidewalks, perimeter grounds, and entrance areas.
Supply & Equipment Management
  • Restock restroom, breakroom, and common area supplies.
  • Maintain janitorial closets in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Properly operate, clean, and store janitorial equipment.
  • Report damaged equipment and maintenance concerns.
  • Follow proper chemical handling, dilution, labeling, and storage procedures.
Safety & Compliance
  • Wear required PPE.
  • Follow established cleaning procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain knowledge of cleaning products and SDS.
  • Help ensure the facility remains clean, safe, and welcoming.
Customer Service & Teamwork
  • Provide courteous and professional customer service.
  • Follow directions from the Project Manager or Supervisor.
  • Work independently and collaboratively.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of commercial cleaning equipment, chemicals, and SDS
Physical Requirements

This position requires routine walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling throughout the workday. Employees must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Team lifting is required for items weighing more than 50 pounds.
