The Role

The assistant works closely with production executives, producers, agents, business affairs, accounting, and other internal teams to ensure HODs are properly set up and cleared to begin work. This is a great desk for someone looking to gain firsthand exposure to the production process, understand how key creative and technical departments operate, and build a strong foundation in the business and logistics behind feature film and television production.

MP Production is looking for someone:

Responsibilities

  • Confidentially handle client's sensitive and personal information
  • Have strong customer service and client management skills to service 6 different offices in upkeeping onboarding paperwork for clients
  • Track and ensure clients are paid by working closely with accounting
  • Handle phone calls with clients and ensure that they are aware of what is needed for onboarding and payroll paperwork, as well as clients' tax documents
  • Read contracts and understand deals to help clients
  • Have a general knowledge of payroll systems such as Wrapbook, Smart Start, Cast and Crew, etc.
  • Manage administrative duties including handling emails, booking reports, updating contracts and general office management tasks
  • Serve as the first point of contact with clients, Agents and Network/Studio Executives
  • Track and meticulously maintain grids of data and execute excellent follow-up and follow through
  • Assist with clients that are starting on projects, research, and compiling information as needed
  • Stay up to date on current events within the entertainment landscape, especially as it relates to Motion Pictures and Television
  • Maintain filing system and organization for the MP Production department

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 months of professional administrative or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work well in fast-paced environments; meet tight deadlines; lead multiple projects and expectations; maintain a sharp focus while handling competing priorities; ability to work well under pressure
  • Attention to detail, strong organization and problem-solving skills are a must
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, while understanding the importance of maintaining confidentiality
  • Strong command of the Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel and Teams
  • Ability to anticipate needs and execute time-sensitive matters
  • Team oriented and able to communicate and collaborate with employees at all levels
  • Able to be self-motivated to manage high and rapid volume
  • Adept at quickly learning new processes, technology, and ability to assimilate oneself and become familiar with existing systems
  • Experience with editing and/or having worked on a set is preferred
  • Knowledge of inEntertainment is a plus

Compensation

The base hourly rate for this position is in the range of $20.00-22.00.
