Job description

Join Our Second Shift Sanitation Team

Our Dairy Filling Room at our Manufacturing Plant in Saratoga Springs is looking for partners to join our second shift sanitation team! This team ensures the tanks, equipment, and rooms are clean and ready for production, as well as conducts regular maintenance on machines. This position is ideal for a self-motivated person with great attention to detail, enjoys cleaning, and working in a team environment.

Duties:

  • Ensure the plant meets or exceeds mandatory sanitation requirements for machinery, equipment, and facilities.
  • Dismantling of piping and equipment for inspection and hand cleaning, then setting up for next day's production run.
  • Operation of automatic cleaning systems (CIP System) to clean and sanitize silos, vats, fillers, and production lines.
  • Preventative maintenance tasks including rebuilding pumps, valves, check valves, equipment rebuilds, and interior tank inspections.
  • Assist Quality Assurance team in sanitation checks through ATP swabbing and Environmental Monitoring.
  • Complete record keeping such as identifying cleaning cycle times on charts, measuring chemical concentrations, examining flow rates, and assessing heat up temperatures.
  • Carry out tasks in accordance with Stewart's policies, OSHA regulations, and USDA and FDA regulations.
  • Take direction from Sanitation Supervisor to resolve sanitation-related issues.

Requirements:

  • Dependable with a team player attitude.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while being safety conscious.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift in a wet environment for several consecutive hours.
  • Ability to work in an environment with a variety of temperatures and a moderate noise level.
  • Appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment while handling various chemicals including safety glasses, gloves, rubber boots, hearing protection, and aprons required.
  • Follow Lockout-Tagout Procedures and perform Confined Space tasks as needed.
  • Must adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices including wearing a company issued uniform, a hairnet, beard net, no jewelry, and no excessive makeup.
  • Prior mechanical or maintenance experience is a plus, but not required.

Schedule & Pay:

  • Full time positions available.
  • Shift start time is typically 6pm.
  • Schedule includes rotating weekends and holidays.
  • Total pay including differentials is $24/hour.
  • Earn an extra $1 for all hours worked on Sundays.
