Job description

Company: Acutron LLC

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated Estimating Coordinator to join our team and assist in preparing cost estimates for mechanical insulation and firestopping. This role is perfect for someone with basic construction knowledge, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in the construction industry with a locally established company. This role offers a growth path into a full time estimating position for candidates who demonstrate strong aptitude, initiative, and technical development.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret construction blueprints, project plans, specifications, and project documents
  • Assist in preparing accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment
  • Conduct site visits as needed to gather project information
  • Communicate with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to clarify project requirements
  • Maintain organized records of estimates and project documentation
  • General administrative duties supporting the estimating department
  • Assist in tracking bid schedules, proposal deadlines, and estimating workflow priorities
  • Support lead estimator and project management teams with coordination, documentation, and project-related task as needed


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics:

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the company
  • High proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with construction estimating software, i.e., Bluebeam, preferred
  • Knowledge of mechanical insulation and firestopping, a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with office and field personnel in a team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated reliability, including regular and predictable attendance and punctuality with an ability to meet project deadlines
  • Ability to maintain a positive, respectful, and professional demeanor and conduct oneself with integrity


Education, Training, and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous work experience in construction, estimating, or administrative support preferred
