Optometrist

Tryfacta is seeking an Optometrist for our client in 1341 Highway 95 North, Bastrop, TX 78602. This is a contract assignment. If you meet the qualifications listed below and are interested, please apply now!

Location: 1341 Highway 95 North, Bastrop, TX 78602

Duration: Long-Term (up to 5 years)

Work Schedule: Part-time | Up to 8 hours/week

Pay rate: $95/hr.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide comprehensive optometric services to adult patients (AIC population) within the Health Services Department.
  • Perform eye exams, refractions, tonometry, and diagnosis of eye conditions.
  • Remove foreign objects from the eye, prescribe corrective lenses, and fit/adjust frames.
  • Document all exams and treatments in the Bureau of Prisons' Electronic Medical Records system.
  • Provide referrals for advanced care when necessary.
  • Submit legible written reports including findings, diagnoses, and treatment recommendations.
  • Complete a minimum of 12 and up to 25 scheduled exams per day.
  • Maintain compliance with institutional policies, patient confidentiality, and federal security requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited program.
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice optometry in the State of Texas.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years' clinical optometry experience preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations in a correctional facility environment.
  • Must pass federal security clearance/background checks.
  • Must provide proof of malpractice insurance ($1M per occurrence / $3M aggregate).
  • Free from infectious diseases and able to meet health requirements.
