Job description

DPI Staffing is seeking a skilled and reliable Structural Welder for a temp-to-hire opportunity with our client in Brooks, OR.

Location: Brooks, OR
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with occasional overtime as needed
Pay: $25.00–$32.00/hr (DOE)

Key Responsibilities
  1. Weld structural and non-structural steel components to AWS D1.1 code standards
  2. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols
  3. Set welding parameters and machine settings to produce quality, sound welds
  4. Perform material prep including grinding, sanding, layout, and fitting
  5. Operate equipment such as overhead/jib cranes, plasma cutters, and power tools
  6. Complete production paperwork and maintain accurate work order records
  7. Perform quality checks and follow non-conformance processes when needed
  8. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Requirements
  1. High school diploma or GED preferred
  2. Welding certification with 3+ years experience, or 5+ years experience welding steel without certification
  3. Strong working knowledge of FCAW and GMAW wire-feed welding
  4. Familiarity with AWS D1.1 structural welding codes
  5. Ability to read contract/shop drawings and welding symbols
  6. Experience operating cranes, torches, plasma cutters, and related shop equipment
  7. Strong attention to detail and good communication skills
  8. Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk up to 10 hours per day
  9. Forklift certification preferred; valid ODL a plus
  10. Able to pass a drug screening
