OVERVIEW
The IT Technical Support Specialist provides technical support within a HIPAA-regulated environment to the Information Technology Department, assisting users and maintaining technology equipment across agency locations from North Smithfield to Westerly, Rhode Island.
This position delivers comprehensive and reliable support to computer and network users under direct supervision. Will maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair computer systems, hardware, and peripherals. Documents, maintains, upgrades, and replaces hardware and software as needed. Supports and manages user account information, including access rights, security, and system group memberships. Assists with the implementation and deployment of new systems, software, and hardware.
Includes providing limited weekend coverage for critical system failures and emergencies.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
  • 2 Years of experience in providing computer support
  • Strong computer skills including installation, configuration and troubleshooting experience.
  • Help desk experience providing users with telephone, remote and on-site technical support
  • Management and Tracking of Hardware/Software Inventory
  • Experience with writing User Documentation/Instructions
  • Highly Motivated
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Able to prioritize and multi-task
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team
  • Good time management skills
  • Valid driver's license, insured vehicle
  • Must have reliable transportation
