Job description

Overview
Inabia is seeking a Full Stack Software Developer with deep expertise in Python/FastAPI and ReactJS to design, build, and maintain mission-critical applications supporting a federal program. This is a stable, long-term 2-year hybrid contract role based in Washington, DC. An active U.S. security clearance is required at the time of application - no interim or prospective clearance candidates will be considered.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using Python/FastAPI on the backend and ReactJS on the frontend
  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs with proper validation, error handling, versioning, and documentation
  • Manage PostgreSQL data models, schema design, and database migrations
  • Containerize applications using Docker and support deployment to AWS
  • Work within AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, VPC) to deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot cloud-hosted applications
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, code reviews, and retrospectives
  • Write automated tests and maintain strong test coverage across backend and frontend codebases
  • Collaborate with cross-functional program teams to translate requirements into secure, scalable software solutions

Key Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Active security clearance required at time of application (no interim or eligibility-only candidates)
  • Strong hands-on experience with Python and FastAPI
  • Demonstrated experience with ReactJS
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL including schema design and migrations
  • Experience with Docker and containerized application development
  • Proven experience working with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, VPC)
  • Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs
  • Agile/Scrum development experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with AWS Lambda, ECS, or EKS
  • CI/CD pipeline experience using Jenkins or GitHub Actions
  • Infrastructure-as-Code experience with Terraform
  • Knowledge of OAuth2 and JWT authentication patterns
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks such as PyTest or Jest
  • Prior experience supporting Federal Government projects
  • Knowledge of NIST/FISMA security standards and compliance requirements
