What is a FastAPI developer?

A FastAPI Developer is a software engineer who specializes in building web applications and APIs using the FastAPI framework, which is a modern, fast (high-performance) web framework for Python. FastAPI Developers are responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend services and APIs that are efficient, robust, and scalable. They often work with databases, authentication, and deployment processes, and ensure that the API endpoints adhere to best practices for security and performance. Their work is crucial for enabling smooth communication between front-end applications and backend systems.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a FastAPI developer?

To thrive as a FastAPI Developer, you need strong proficiency in Python programming, RESTful API design, and experience with FastAPI, often supported by a background in computer science or related fields. Familiarity with tools like SQL/NoSQL databases, Docker, and cloud platforms, as well as knowledge of asynchronous programming and API documentation tools like Swagger, is typically required. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication set outstanding FastAPI developers apart. These skills are crucial for building reliable, high-performance APIs that meet modern application demands and facilitate seamless team collaboration.

What are some common challenges FastAPI developers face when integrating third-party services or APIs?

FastAPI Developers often encounter challenges when integrating third-party services, such as handling authentication protocols (like OAuth2), ensuring compatibility between JSON schemas, and managing asynchronous calls to avoid performance bottlenecks. It’s also common to troubleshoot and adapt to inconsistencies in external API documentation or rate limits. Collaborating closely with frontend teams and DevOps professionals helps streamline these integrations, ensuring robust, scalable API solutions.

What is the difference between Fastapi Developer vs Backend Developer?

AspectFastapi DeveloperBackend Developer
Required SkillsPython, Fastapi, REST APIs, async programmingMultiple languages (Python, Java, Node.js), REST/SOAP APIs, databases
Work EnvironmentWeb development, API-focused projects, microservicesBroader software development, server-side logic, database management
Industry UsageTech startups, SaaS, API-driven servicesEnterprise, e-commerce, finance, various industries

Fastapi Developers specialize in building high-performance APIs using Python and Fastapi, often within microservices architectures. Backend Developers have a broader scope, working with multiple languages and technologies to develop server-side applications across various industries. While Fastapi Developers focus on API efficiency, Backend Developers handle comprehensive backend systems.

We are seeking a hands‑on DevOps Engineer to help scale, secure, automate, and stabilize HuLoop’s cloud, hybrid, and customer-hosted environments.

This role is critical to the reliability of our platform. The ideal candidate understands the importance of protecting production systems, managing change carefully, preventing repeat incidents, and ensuring that infrastructure, deployment, and configuration changes are thoroughly reviewed before release.

You will work closely with Engineering, QA, Cloud Operations, Production Support, and Product Management to improve deployment reliability, system uptime, observability, security, scalability, vulnerability prevention, and release quality.

This role is well suited for someone who can use AI tools to improve speed and productivity, while applying the experience and judgment required to validate outputs before they are used in production.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines across development, QA, staging, and production environments.
  • Automate deployment, configuration, infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, and recovery processes.
  • Support Microsoft Azure infrastructure, hybrid environments, and customer-hosted deployments.
  • Support mixed operating system environments, including Ubuntu, Windows Server, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Improve platform stability, uptime, scalability, performance, elasticity, and operational resilience.
  • Support Docker-based deployments and future container orchestration initiatives.
  • Manage and improve infrastructure related to NGINX, TLS, routing, certificates, application services, APIs, and runtime components.
  • Support deployment pipelines for Java, Tomcat, Spring Boot, Python, FastAPI, Angular, TypeScript, .NET, and containerized services.
  • Improve release management through validation steps, smoke tests, deployment gates, rollback plans, and environment checks.
  • Help prevent production issues by identifying risks before changes are deployed.
  • Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
  • Create and maintain runbooks, deployment documentation, operational procedures, and environment standards.
  • Improve observability through better logging, monitoring, alerting, tracing, dashboards, and service health indicators.
  • Support vulnerability prevention and remediation through scanning, dependency reviews, patching, secure configuration, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Support secure secrets management, certificate management, access controls, and least‑privilege operating practices.
  • Support SOC 2 controls, audit readiness, customer security reviews, and operational evidence collection.
  • Help ensure operational issues are documented, addressed, and not repeated.
  • Use AI tools responsibly to accelerate scripting, troubleshooting, documentation, and analysis, while validating all outputs before production use.
Desired Qualifications:
  • 3 to 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or Platform Engineering.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
  • Hands‑on experience with Docker and containerized deployments.
  • Familiarity with container orchestration concepts.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and infrastructure‑as‑code tools.
  • Strong working knowledge of Linux server operations, including Ubuntu and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server, Windows services, PowerShell, and enterprise Windows environments.
  • Experience supporting mixed operating system environments across cloud, hybrid, and customer‑hosted deployments.
  • Experience with NGINX, TLS certificates, reverse proxy configuration, and web application routing.
  • Experience supporting production SaaS applications.
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking, monitoring, logging, operational security, and incident response.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Sound judgment around production risk, change management, release readiness, and rollback planning.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced startup environment.
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience supporting AI, automation, workflow orchestration, RPA, or agent‑based platforms.
  • Experience with Java, Maven, Tomcat, Spring Boot, Python, FastAPI, .NET, Angular, and TypeScript environments.
  • Experience with SQL Server, MongoDB, backup and restore processes, database connectivity, and performance monitoring.
  • Experience with Azure Key Vault, managed identity, centralized secrets management, and least‑privilege access.
  • Experience with observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Application Insights, Datadog, New Relic, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, Temporal, or distributed task queue technologies.
  • Experience with SBOMs, artifact signing, code signing, software supply chain security, and secure release practices.
  • Experience supporting SOC 2, customer security reviews, vendor risk reviews, or regulated enterprise environments.
