ABOUT THIS POSITION:

Namify's Wide Format Machine Operator position will take ownership for the, printing machine operation, quality assurance, and processing of all banners and custom projects that come through the Wide Format production line. Attention to detail is critical while hitting all production time standards.


JOB RESPONSIBILIES:

  • Production Operation: Operate and maintain wide-format printing equipment, ensuring high-quality output for a variety of signage products, including vehicle decals, banners, foam signs, yard signs, canvas prints, laminating, cutting, and routing materials.
  • Quality Control: Verify printed images against order specifications, checking for size, color, placement, and other client requirements.
  • Cutting & Edging: Use both hand tools and electric machinery to accurately cut, edge, and corner items according to order specifications.
  • Heat Sealing & Finishing: Apply heat seals to hems on banners and flexible signage, ensuring a professional finish.
  • Packaging: Package products securely to ensure safe and attractive presentation for clients.
  • Workstation Organization: Maintain a clean, organized workspace, ensuring tools, materials, and supplies are stored correctly at the end of each shift.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and address any production issues, ensuring all products meet quality standards.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Communicate with the supervisor and team when clarification is needed or challenges arise.
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, report any hazards, and ensure safe working conditions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to enhancing production processes, meeting deadlines, and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Additional Tasks: Assist with other production tasks as needed to support the team's goals and ensure smooth operations.
  • Commit to a regular, full time daily shift. Arrive on time.

ย  REQUIREMENTS:ย 

  • Machine Operator experience required
  • Ability to independently operate wide-format printing machinery and manage production processes from start to finish.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot equipment or production issues without direct supervision.
  • Ability to read and comprehend work orders and technical specifications in English.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members as the department grows.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and good tactile ability for precise machine operation and finishing tasks.
  • Comfortable using computers and eager to learn new technologies related to machinery operation.
  • High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency even with repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to stand for long periods (6+ hours) and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions clearly and accurately.
  • Capable of working under deadlines and meeting production quotas with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds as needed for job duties.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION FOR:

  • Experience with operating specialized print production machinery
  • Previous quality control or inventory management experience.
  • Previous experience with heat sealing, cutting, or finishing processes.

SCHEDULE:

  • Monday-Friday, 9:00AM - 5:00PM

WORK SPACE INFO:

This job operates in a warehouse environment which requires standing, moving, lifting, and operating machinery and computers. Personal Protection Equipment may be required. Safety training is mandatory and employees must be able to pass basic safety requirements.


TRAINING:

Training for this position will be completed by the department manager. Training will consist of education on key processes, preparation and staging requirements by customer, location of tools, supplies and materials. You will be trained on how to use the order interface, how to properly read orders and where to look for notes. Additional training will be completed as processes evolve or as required.


SAFETY:

Namify enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe working environment. Each incumbent is responsible for completing all training requirements and fulfilling self-aid/buddy-aid responsibilities, participating in emergency response tasks as requested, and serving on safety committees and teams as requested.
