Position Overview

Join a dynamic and collaborative cardiac catheterization lab team as a Cardiac Catheterization Technologist. This contract position is designed for individuals with a strong background in cardiovascular services who are committed to providing exceptional patient care.

Shift Information

Monday - Friday

Minimum Experience Required

5 years of recent cardiac catheterization laboratory experience preferred.

Certifications and Requirements

• General Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• CCI Registry: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) preferred
• Allied Health Certifications: Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) with cardiac catheterization experience

Position Summary

The Cardiac Catheterization Technologist assists physicians and clinical staff in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. Responsibilities include preparing patients and equipment, maintaining a sterile environment, operating specialized imaging equipment, and ensuring safety and quality in patient care.

Essential Responsibilities

• Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies for cardiac catheterization procedures.
• Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures.
• Operate fluoroscopy and hemodynamic monitoring equipment.
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure compliance with infection prevention standards.
• Monitor patient status and communicate any changes to the clinical team.
• Document procedural information accurately and completely.
• Assist with patient transport, positioning, and post-procedure care as needed.
• Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives.
• Maintain equipment and report operational concerns promptly.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, or related program.
• Current certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) preferred, or Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) with cardiac catheterization experience.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, cardiovascular anatomy, and cardiac procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced procedural environment.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing procedural schedules.
• Proficiency with cardiac catheterization equipment and electronic documentation systems.
