General Summary:
Under general supervision of the Early Care & Learning Facilities Supervisor, the Food Delivery Driver distributes food to ECL centers, where children are present, in the San Fernando Valley and Antelope Valleys. This position is part-time, 25 hours per week. This is an onsite work environment and requires traveling to assigned locations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Within a team environment, the Food Delivery Driver performs the following responsibilities:
Food Deliveries (75%)
  • Deliver food to various locations to meet scheduled delivery times and maintain productivity.
  • Ensures all Delivery Sheets are completed at centers and returned to Central Kitchen daily
  • Load and unload insulated food containers and/or carts from central kitchen and ECL Centers
  • Receive completed production orders from staging clerk. Inventory items to ensure completion of orders.
  • Follow all policies and procedures regarding delivery to locations where children are present.
  • Deliver meals within required scheduling, including during inclement weather conditions.
  • Complete a daily vehicle inspection report, reporting any mechanical problems with the vehicle to Facilities supervisor.
  • Follow all DOT and company regulations to operate safely.

Quality Assurance (10%)
  • Ensure hot and cold food items are kept in compliance with all local, state, and federal health and safety including sanitation regulations.
  • Follow safe food handling and sanitations practices.
  • Assist in the receiving of deliveries, spot check for quality of product, and notify supervisor when items do not meet prescribed standards.

Cleaning and Maintenance (15%)
  • Keeps the assigned vehicle washed, clean, and in good operating condition, checking all fluids, tires, etc. and communicate with Facilities Manager for any issues.
  • Keeps transporting warmers and cambros clean as per regulations
  • Follow and demonstrate an understanding of all cleaning and sanitation practices and policies.
  • Utilize proper cleaning solutions and wear protective clothing as instructed by regulations of the program.
  • Complete assigned side work and deep cleaning duties in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Assist other Nutrition Aides with cleaning tasks, as directed.

Job Specifications
Minimum Required
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED)
  • Experience:
    • 6 months food handling or food delivery experience, product delivery, or other relevant experience
    • 3 years of licensed driving experience, including 6 months of geographic familiarity with driving throughout the San Fernando and Antelope Valley streets and highways
  • Professional/Technical Certifications: Hold or the ability to obtain Food Handler certification within 90 days of date of hire.
  • Technical Requirements: Basic computer proficiency skills to access/navigate/use email/ internet and work order tracking software
  • Travel: This position requires 75% travel. Will consist of daily travel to deliver meals to ECL Center locations in the San Fernando and Antelope Valleys. Staff members driving on behalf of CCRC may choose to drive a CCRC vehicle or own vehicle and must meet requirements to be an approved driver including holding and maintaining current auto insurance, current California Driver's License and DMV clearance required.
  • Work Schedule: This position is part-time, 25 hours per week.
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced work environment. Includes traveling to multiple ECL centers to perform assigned tasks.
  • Background & Health Clearance Requirements: Background requirements determined according to the requirements of the program(s) which the position will be supporting. Head Start / CCP
    • Background check required. As a grant-funded Agency supporting Children and Family Services, CCRC conducts background checks commensurate with the role to verify candidate qualifications (criminal history, employment history / experience, education, reference checks) and ensure grant compliance. Specific roles may have additional verification / clearance to the standard background check as part of the recruitment and selection process, including:
    • Live Scan Clearance / DOJ Fingerprinting: For positions working directly with the public in a child/ community care or child / community care adjacent setting (CA Health and Safety Code Section 1596.871 and/or Head Start Program Performance Standards 1302.90).
    • Health Clearance: For positions working directly with the public in a child/ community care or child / community care adjacent setting or working with "at risk" populations, CA Code of Regulations Title 22, §101216, CA Health and Safety Code 1596.7995, and/or Head Start Program Performance Standards 1302.93)
    • MVR / DMV clearance in accordance with CCRC's liability insurance provisions: For positions where driving is required.
    • Child Development Permit: For positions working in an educational capacity (California Education Code Sections 44242.5, 44340, and 44341)
    • CPR / Pediatric CPR certification: For certain identified positions working directly with the public in a child/ community care or child / community care adjacent setting (CA Health & Safety Code 1596.865 - 1596.866)
    • Federal Debarment Checks: For positions acting in a principal capacity to federal funds (Head Start Program Performance Standards 1304.11, Code of Federal Regulations Title 2 Grants and Agreements 2.180.320 and 2.180.995)
