Job description

SUMMARY:

The Nursing Supervisor is a critical position in coordinating and ensuring that the programs receiving nursing care (2.7, 3.5, 3.7) at Kirkwood Recovery Center has appropriate medical oversight and meets regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies. In this role, the Nursing Supervisor will work alongside administrative staff to ensure that regulations and quality of care are maintained in accordance with the regulations, standards, and policies of NET Centers' Delaware programs, accreditation organizations, and program funders. The Nursing Supervisor will also be responsible for aiding/training nursing staff, as needed, in fulfilling nursing responsibilities pertaining to programming at Kirkwood Recovery Center.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: (and other duties as assigned)

Provide direct support to nursing staff and Behavioral Health Assistants (BHAs)

Manage admissions/discharges

Monitoring detox protocols (COWS/CIWA)

Ensure program remains compliant with all company policies

Support interdisciplinary treatment teams

Assist with staffing (training, scheduling, conflict resolution)

Conduct chart and medication audits regularly

Ensure program remains DEA and SAMHSA compliant with regards to medication practices

Policy/procedure review and revision (under Director's approval and supervision)

Providing appropriate in service training to nursing staff that work the unit

Participating in leadership meetings regarding the program

Filling in vacant nursing shifts when absolutely necessary

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Possession of a Delaware Registered Nurse, NP OR multi-state compact license.

2-5 years of nursing experience in behavioral health, detox, and/or addiction treatment is required

Previous supervisory, charge nurse, or leadership experience is preferred.

Strong knowledge of medication administration, crisis intervention and patient care coordination

Ability to supervise staff, manage schedules, completes documentation and ensure compliance with state and deferral regulations

Excellent communication, leadership and conflict-resolution skills

Experience with EMR/HER systems and nursing documentation

Ability to respond to emergencies and oversee clinical operations during shifts

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel at the intermediate to advanced level

Experience in working with an electronic health record is preferred

Excellent time management and organizational skills

Advanced oral and written communication skills to effectively problem-solve

Must be a team player, patient, flexible, and can multi-task

Demonstrated ability to complete multiple tasks in a timely and accurate fashion in a fast-paced environment
