Job description

Summary

CHS Rochester in Grand Meadow, MN is looking for a Seasonal Truck Driver to join our team! This individual would be responsible for hauling fertilizers to our local farmers and ranchers. The ideal candidate would have a Class A or B CDL or the ability to obtain a seasonal CDL no experience is required. This position is M-Saturday with consistent 12-hour shifts but also offer flexible scheduling if needed. This position would run from mid September- freeze up and is a great opportunity to get some extra cash in a short period of time. Join our amazing team today! 

Responsibilities
  • Operate a semitractor and trailer (or straight truck) to deliver nonhazardous materials to customer sites across complex or variable routes, ensuring safe and efficient execution
  • Drive in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies, using sound judgment regarding route safety, road conditions, and compliance requirements
  • Provide professional customer service during pickups and deliveries; communicate clearly, resolve routine issues, and escalate nonroutine concerns as appropriate
  • Connect and disconnect trailers, and perform product transfer loading and unloading activities in accordance with safety protocols
  • Complete required delivery documentation and daily load/unload reports, and maintain accurate electronic logs and onboard computer entries
  • Perform pretrip and posttrip inspections, and report maintenance, safety, or equipment concerns promptly
  • Report accidents, incidents, near misses, and equipment issues; follow required procedures; and model strong safety and compliance behaviors
  • Provide informal guidance and support to Associate Drivers as needed regarding routes, equipment operation, and safety practices
  • Share operational knowledge and best practices to support team efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction
Minimum Qualifications (required)
  • Valid Class A or Class B CDL (as required for the equipment/route)
  • Have a minimum of 1 year of verifiable CDL driving experience
  • Must meet age requirement
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and compliance, and complete required documentation accurately
Additional Qualifications
  • Demonstrate the ability to operate independently in a highskill driving role, including managing complex routes or delivery requirements
  • Demonstrated safe-driving performance and ability to make sound safety decisions in changing weather and road conditions
  • Strong customer service skills and a history of positive customer feedback
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
  • Pre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. If required, selected candidates must pass pre-employment screenings, which may include all or a combination of drug, criminal, motor vehicle check, physical requirements, and FMCSA Clearinghouse.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to safely climb in and out of truck cabs and trailers
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
