Job description

The Role: Operating tractors and other farm machinery for Vegetable row crop production.

Location(s): Yuma-Imperial Region

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Drive, adjust, and control one or more farm machines; such as tractors, implements, planters and technology machines to grow various vegetable row crops.
  • Daily refuel and inspect equipment for any damages or leaks to ensure optimum performance and minimize breakdowns.
  • Communicate with foreman and managers as needed for assigned tasks and equipment maintenance and repairs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education and/or Experience: Minimum of three months experience driving tractors and/or tillage equipment and/or planting equipment.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to safely carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to recognize unsafe operating conditions and alert management, when needed.
  • Other Skills and Abilities: Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

  • Physical Demands: The role requires frequent sitting and communication, with occasional standing, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs. It also requires a full range of vision abilities to perform essential tasks.
