Job Overview:

AMVC Management Services is seeking a sow production manager to oversee multiple sow farms in Indiana and Illinois. AMVC sow production managers oversee all aspects of sow farms, including monitoring production goals, problem-solving on-farm challenges, mentoring and developing farm managers and leadership teams, and effectively communicating with internal and external farm stakeholders. Our sow production managers are self-motivated leaders who can resolve issues and ask for help when necessary.

Responsibilities:

Provide oversight and leadership for sow farms

Direct and support farms and employees to achieve farm and system goals

Provide clear and concise communication to sow production and grow/finish teams

Manage time efficiently

Coordinate audits and continuing education covering human resources, safety, welfare biosecurity, facility maintenance, Pork Quality Assurance Plus, and Transport Quality Assurance

Support the improvement of the overall sow production system

Required Skills and Knowledge:

Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to develop productive working relationships with a wide variety of individual personalities

High integrity, commitment, respect, and care for all animals

No exposure to pigs or direct contact with individuals caring for pigs that AMVC Management Services does not manage

Proficient Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Required Education or Experience:

Previous management experience - can be in a non-swine or agricultural field

Knowledge of modern swine production

Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
