Farm management is the process of making and implementing decisions about the organization and operation of a farm to achieve specific goals, such as profitability, sustainability, and productivity. It involves planning, organizing, directing, and controlling all farm activities, including crop and livestock production, resource allocation, financial management, and marketing. Effective farm management helps ensure optimal use of resources, risk mitigation, and long-term success for the farming business.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a farm manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Farm Manager, you need expertise in agricultural practices, crop and livestock management, and often a degree in agriculture or related fields. Farm managers who oversee both crops and livestock often navigate the complexities of balancing resource allocation, managing seasonal labor, and maintaining compliance with agricultural regulations. Coordinating planting and harvesting schedules while also ensuring animal health and welfare can require strong organizational and problem-solving skills. ABOUT OUR AGENCY:
I opened my agency in 2000, and today I lead a dedicated team of three, with plans to grow by adding two or three more talented individuals. Before opening my agency, I worked as an Agency Manager and previously in Claims, so I bring a deep understanding of the business from multiple sides. State Farm has truly been part of my life from the very beginning — my father was also an agent, and that family legacy continues to drive my passion for helping people protect what matters most.
Community involvement is a huge part of who we are. I’m an active member of the Kiwanis Club and regularly participate in volunteer events aimed at strengthening and supporting our local community. We believe that being a good neighbor goes far beyond insurance — it’s about making a lasting impact where we live and work.
We also strive to create a positive and supportive office culture. We offer perks like casual Fridays, a once-a-month “Early Out Day” (where the team wraps up at 2 PM), and a work environment that values strong communication, collaboration, and genuine care for others. We pride ourselves on delivering high-level customer service, building relationships that last, and focusing on people — not just policies.
If you’re looking for a career where you can make a difference, grow with a supportive team, and build lasting relationships, this could be the perfect place for you.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
As a Customer Service Representative - State Farm Agent Team Member with Phil White - State Farm Agent, you will generate the kind of exceptional customer experiences that reinforce the growth of a successful insurance agency. Your attention to detail, customer service skills, and desire to help people make you a fit. You will enhance your career while resolving customer inquiries, coordinating with other agency team members, and anticipating the needs of the community members you support.
We look forward to connecting with you if you are the customer-focused and empathetic team member we are searching for. We anticipate internal growth opportunities for especially driven and sales-minded candidates.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Answer customer inquiries and provide policy information.
  • Assist customers with policy changes and updates.
  • Process insurance claims and follow up with customers.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to multitask.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred.
