Job description


Hourly pay rate: $20.85, 6 months $21.25, 1 year $21.80
Job Responsibilities
1. Responsible for managing farms in the absences of the farm manager under outline of the Farm Managers Production Guide
2. Help with movement of turkey flocks to confinement growing or range.
3. Work every other weekend replacing farm manager unless otherwise instructed
4. Assist farm managers in all areas of production as needed
5. Supply reliable transportation to work sites
6. Perform repairs, maintenance, equipment and construction on projects assigned by supervisor
7. Assist wash, manure crews and shavings delivery or other areas as required
8. Follow sanitation and isolation procedures using tracking patterns
9. Follow safety policies and procedures as recommended
10. Communicate with supervisor on a regular basis to receive work orders as needed
11. Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Minimum Qualifications
* Basic math skills/Able to read and write at 4th grade level
* Able to work weekends/Supply reliable transportation for travel to work sites
* Cannot own or raise any type of fowl (i.e. turkeys, chickens, geese, pheasants, parakeets, etc.)
* Able to meet all sanitation requirements/Able to work in a smoke free environment
* PHYSICAL: Ability to work in a dusty environment with ammonia present in all weather conditions while using approved respiratory protection
* Facial hair must not compromise respirator face to mask seal-No beards
* Ability to twist, stoop, bend, squat, lift, carry, reach while handling turkeys, feed, litter, equipment < 10 lbs. to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Previous animal husbandry experience and/or farm background (two Years)
* Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record
* Entry level computer skills (excel & word)

To be considered for this position you must have completed six (6) months in your present position. Team Members with less than six (6) months may be considered for promotion or transfer based on the needs of the company.
