The part-time Poker Dealer plays a crucial role in delivering an exciting, fair, and memorable gaming experience by expertly managing live poker games with accuracy, professionalism, and exceptional guest engagement. Your ability to deal cards efficiently, enforce game rules, calculate payouts with precision, and maintain full control of the table ensures that every guest enjoys a smooth and entertaining gameplay experience. Through strong game knowledge, attention to detail, and a welcoming demeanor, you help create a safe, enjoyable, and trustworthy environment that reflects the high standards of the Live! brand.
Compensation: $4.50/hr - $5.50/hr
Earning potential: hourly + gitca tip rate of mid $50,000 for full-time hours.
Responsibilities
Where You'll Make an Impact:
  • Providing exemplary customer service while engaging with guests in a professional demeanor.
  • Dealing various games of poker, including but not limited to Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Stud and Draw.
  • Dealing various limits, including No Limit, Limit, Spread Limit, and Pot Limit.
  • Controlling gaming cards and equipment.
  • Protect company assets by monitoring guests' movements at table at all times.
  • Analyzing customer play for cheating scams and suspicious variation in play.
  • Engaging with guests.
  • Paying wins/Taking losses.
  • Ensure the safety and security of guests and employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills to Help You Succeed:
  • Ability to:
    • Speak English clearly, listen and follow directions.
    • Accurately complete paperwork and forms.
      • Use chips, cards, and a paddle.
    • Complete, perform and understand basic mathematical functions.
    • Perform assigned duties under frequent time pressure in an interruptive environment.
  • Knowledge of:
    • Specified games and gaming regulations.
    • Money and chips designations
    • Theft techniques.
    • Company policy and procedures, IRS Bank Secrecy Act and internal controls.
  • Good hand/eye coordination.

Qualifications
Must-Haves:
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • At least one (1) year of experience as a casino dealer OR certification from an accredited dealer school.
  • Willingness and ability to be flexible with work schedule. May require extended hours and work week from time to time.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the necessary license as mandated by the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency.
