Customer Service Representative - Service Focus with In-Book Sales Responsibilities

The Kalpagian Agency is seeking a Customer Service Representative who is passionate about helping people, skilled at resolving customer needs, and comfortable identifying additional coverage opportunities within our existing book of business. If you enjoy building relationships, providing solutions, and creating positive customer experiences, this role is an excellent fit.
This position requires both Property & Casualty and Life & Health licenses.
If you do not currently hold all required licenses, we will support you through the licensing process, but full licensure will be required to remain in the role.
Role Overview
You will be the first point of contact for policyholders-assisting with billing, claims, and policy updates-while also conducting needs-based coverage conversations. Your ability to listen, solve problems, and recognize sales opportunities will directly support customer satisfaction and agency growth.
Responsibilities
  • Answer customer inquiries and provide clear, accurate policy information
  • Assist with policy changes, billing questions, and general service needs
  • Support customers throughout the claims process with empathy and professionalism
  • Maintain accurate documentation of customer interactions and follow-up actions
  • Conduct proactive policy conversations to identify gaps or opportunities for additional coverage
  • Contribute to customer retention by building trust and providing exceptional service

Qualifications
  • Active Property & Casualty and Life & Health licenses, or willingness to obtain both with agency support
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask effectively
  • Previous insurance service experience preferred
  • Comfortable incorporating sales recommendations into service conversations
  • Ability to remain calm and supportive in high-stress or complex customer situations
