Maintenance Technician
.
Our client is a well-established poultry operation seeking a reliable, hands-on Poultry Operations & Maintenance Technician to support daily farm operations.
This role is ideal for someone with poultry industry experience who enjoys physical work, takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and animal care, and has the mechanical aptitude to perform basic equipment maintenance, facility repairs, and support the day-to-day operation of the farm.
Location: Cambridge, Ontario
Position Type: Permanent, full-time
Schedule: 40 hours/week, with weekend availability 1–2 times per month
Compensation: $23 - $28/hour, Compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare poultry barns for incoming flocks, including clean-out, washing, sanitizing, and setup
  • Monitor flock conditions and assist with daily poultry care activities
  • Operate farm equipment and machinery safely and effectively
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to equipment, barns, and farm infrastructure
  • Maintain high standards of biosecurity, sanitation, and animal welfare
  • Assist with general property upkeep and seasonal farm tasks
  • Support day-to-day farm operations and work independently
  • Help ensure smooth farm operations in the absence of ownership
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working in poultry production is an asset
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment and facility repairs
  • Experience operating farm equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of daily farm operations and work independently in the owner's absence
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Physical Requirements:
This is an active, hands-on position that requires the ability to:
  • Perform physical tasks on a regular basis
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
  • Walk, stand, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb throughout the workday
  • Work in poultry barn environments with exposure to dust, noise, odours, and varying temperatures
  • Wear required personal protective equipment and follow all biosecurity protocols
