Duda Farm Fresh Foods, Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of DUDA, established in 2006 to manage the company's legacy fresh produce operations. Capitalizing on a tradition begun in 1926 of growing healthy fresh fruits and vegetables, Duda Farm Fresh Foods offers year-round availability of a wide range of products packed under the Dandy® brand. A full-service grower, packer, shipper, marketer, importer and exporter of farm fresh fruits and vegetables and fresh-cut vegetables, its operations are geographically diversified. The Florida-based corporation has production and shipping operations in Florida, California, Arizona, Michigan and Georgia with additional domestic and international locations.
Duda Farm Fresh Foods, is currently looking for a Cost Accountant to join our Accounting team in our Wellington and Belle Glade, Florida locations. The ideal candidate will support the Eastern region value-added processing plant by managing cost accounting, inventory control, and financial reporting for the Food & Agriculture division. Based primarily out of Wellington location, this role requires travel to regional plant 2-3 days per week during the processing season to support business partners and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain standard costs and product costing data; analyze variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Manage inventory costing, accuracy, reconciliations, and controls.
  • Support month-end close, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and COGS analysis.
  • Maintain BOMs, routings, and ERP costing data.
  • Evaluate cost impacts of new products, process improvements, and capital projects.
  • Partner with operations to improve cost performance and inventory controls.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and GAAP.
  • Manage daily work order closures, packaging reconciliations, and invoice/PO approvals.
  • Prepare month-end entries, financial reports, and variance analysis.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost modeling for plant operations.
  • Monitor budget-to-actual performance and provide financial insights to leadership.
  • Partner with plant operations to improve costing, inventory controls, and financial performance.
  • Support audits, capital projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and financial training.
  • Overnight travel may be required
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related business field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; ERP experience (DAX preferred).
  • Knowledge & Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills with knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, and financial reporting.
  • Valid driver's license.
