Job Description:
Under the direction of the Supervisor, Technical Services or designee, the Electronics Technician is responsible for the troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of all electronic, logic, and digital equipment and electromechanical devices, including farebox revenue collection system equipment, destination signs, radio, video, and Intelligent Bus System (IBS) equipment for Pace divisions and contract carriers as applicable. Performs other duties as assigned. Essential functions include:
  1. Troubleshoots and repairs all farebox revenue collection system equipment.
  2. Troubleshoots and repairs all destination sign, radio, video, Intelligent Bus System (IBS) and other related equipment.
  3. Modifies and/or fabricates parts to keep equipment in good working order.
  4. Uses/maintains computer software/hardware equipment.
  5. Tracks equipment and issues through computer data entry.
  6. Maintains all records and forms in compliance with applicable regulations and in Pace requirements.
  7. Performing other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications
Age:
21+
Education:
Qualified candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Certification/ License Requirements:
Must have a valid driver's license with good driving history.
Experience:
Must have a minimum of five years of experience working in the field of electromechanics including logic systems, digital circuitry, and electro-mechanical devices and have a strong work history demonstrating the ability to excel in similar roles.
Proficiencies:
Must have knowledge in the areas of electro-mechanical devices, communications equipment, and complex electronic circuitry.
Must be able to understand and operate electrical test equipment to support maintenance and repairs and to operate maintenance vehicles.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time; Lift up to 100 lbs.
Working Conditions:
Must be available to work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Work is performed at garages and other facilities, including sites under construction which may be subject to extreme temperature and weather conditions as well as moderate to loud noise levels. Position requires the wearing of protective clothing and shoes and the use of appropriate safety and personal protective equipment.
This position is not eligible for hybrid schedule or telecommuting.
Salary:
Full Salary Range: $54,732 - 107,952
Salary Midpoint: $81,342
Anticipated Starting Salary: $68,037 - 81,342
