Job description

Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to, the following:
  • Perform mold, machine, and robot setup activities.
  • Perform material changeovers and material system troubleshooting.
  • Perform mold and process troubleshooting.
  • Assist in new process development.
  • Fanuc robot programming and setup.
  • Assist with scrap reduction continuous improvement projects.
  • Organize tooling and tool run status.
  • Load and unload molds on and off of tool trucks with overhead hoist.
  • Drive Hilo per production needs.
  • Maintain clean work area.
  • Provide direction and coaching to less experienced team members as requested.
  • Support and drive continuous improvement activities.
  • Coordinate communication / documentation between shifts.
  • Coordinate any repairs with maintenance.
  • Serve as point of contact for escalated PUMA related issues.

Leadership
  • Conduct pre-shift meeting with PUMA staff.
  • Assess, supervise, and lead PUMA staff to meet daily requirements
  • Participate in the planning of projects or tasks.
  • Review/ensure safety compliance and quality issues (5S, SES).
  • Respond to any equipment stoppages
  • Share any other appropriate information with PUMA staff.
  • Additional functions not specifically outlined in this position description as directed by the leader.

Position Skills and Experience Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty effectively. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.   • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proficient with Microsoft Applications (e.g., word, excel, outlook, etc.).
  • Proficient with Plex.
  • Must have the ability to write detailed, legible information for work performed.
  • Ability to effectively lead troubleshooting practies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • 1-3 years prior supervisory experience in manufacturing environment.

Position Summary: Responsible for ensuring on-time production of quality product, process troubleshooting and machine setup. Functions as the lead technical expert of all plastic injection molding processes/machinery and leader of process technician staff from a technical capacity. Note: the Lead process technician will not be responsible for conducting performance management reviews.
