What is a Fandango and what do people in this job do?

Fandango is not a standard job title, but it is best known as the name of a popular online movie ticketing service. Employees at Fandango work in various roles such as customer service, software development, marketing, and content creation to help users purchase movie tickets, access movie information, and enjoy related digital content. Their main responsibilities include enhancing the user experience on the platform, managing partnerships with theaters, and providing support for customers.

What is a Fandango job?

A Fandango job typically refers to a position at Fandango, a company specializing in movie tickets, streaming, and entertainment content. Jobs at Fandango range from software development and marketing to customer service and business operations. Employees work on providing seamless ticket purchasing experiences, managing digital content, and developing partnerships with theaters and studios. Career opportunities vary based on skills and experience, with roles in technology, data analytics, and media production being common.

What are some common challenges faced by customer support representatives at Fandango, and how can they be addressed?

Customer support representatives at Fandango often handle high volumes of inquiries, especially during major movie releases or special events. Common challenges include resolving ticketing issues quickly, navigating last-minute changes, and providing support across multiple platforms (phone, chat, email). To address these challenges, representatives rely on strong communication skills, thorough knowledge of Fandango's systems, and effective teamwork with technical and sales teams. Ongoing training and access to updated resources also help them provide accurate and timely assistance to customers.

Familiarity with digital ticketing platforms, CRM systems, and data analytics tools is typically required, along with certifications depending on the role. Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and a customer-first attitude set standout employees apart. These skills are crucial to deliver seamless entertainment experiences, adapt to a fast-paced digital environment, and meet customer expectations.

Job Description

About Us:

VERSANT (Nasdaq: VSNT) is an industry-changing media and entertainment business and home to trusted brands that shape culture, inform audiences, and build lasting connections. It operates across four core markets: political news and opinion, business news and personal finance, golf, and sports and genre entertainment. These markets are served through a powerful portfolio of iconic and innovative brands, including CNBC, MS NOW, USA Network, Golf Channel, Oxygen, E!, SYFY, and Versant’s sports division USA Sports, along with complementary digital assets including Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow and GolfPass. Visit www.VersantMedia.com for more information.

The Opportunity:

Fandango is seeking a Senior Ads Attribution Engineer to own the automation, architecture, and operational health of its ads measurement and pixel delivery ecosystem. This role exists because the volume of per-movie, per-platform tag provisioning work has reached a scale that demands an engineering solution — and because Fandango’s expanding platform roadmap requires someone who can own measurement accuracy end-to-end as new integrations are shipped.

Sitting within the F360 team, this role partners closely with F360 Fullstack and Data Engineers. The Fullstack Engineer builds and ships platform integrations, while the Senior Ads Attribution Engineer leads attribution instrumentation by owning tagging, pixel implementation, and signal quality. The role works with engineering teams to ensure events contain the identifiers and measurement signals required for advertising use cases, helps identify and remediate data gaps, and supports the reliable delivery of attribution-ready data to downstream platforms.

Why This Role Matters:

Today, every film release requires manual creation of multiple tickets to provision tracking pixels across a growing roster of ad platforms and measurement partners. At current volume, this creates a bottleneck that can limit campaign launch velocity and introduce risk when Movie IDs are manually maintained in tag rule conditions.

The Senior Ads Attribution Engineer will help eliminate that bottleneck by building an automated pixel orchestration layer on top of F360’s existing movie metadata and delivery infrastructure, while owning the measurement standards and signal quality that studio Ad Ops and Performance Marketing teams depend on.

This is a remote role with expected opportunities for in-person collaboration approximately 10% of the time. This is a salaried position with on-call expectations.

What You'll Do:

  • Design and build automated pixel provisioning and orchestration systems that trigger tag setup across ad platforms when a new movie enters the F360 system, replacing manual ticket-per-film workflows with scalable engineering solutions.
  • Eliminate manual Movie ID maintenance in tag trigger conditions by replacing hardcoded rules with database-driven lookups against F360’s existing PostgreSQL movie catalog.
  • Build and support server-side measurement orchestration for Fandango Ticketing and Fandango at Home, centralizing signal delivery, reducing reliance on client-side tags, and improving measurement reliability.
  • Own event taxonomy, naming conventions, Solution Design Reference documentation, QA standards, and event schemas for tracked events across media platforms and CAPI integrations.
  • Monitor and improve match rates, deduplication logic, schema quality, and feed health across CAPI platform feeds, mobile measurement partner integrations, and ad platform signal delivery.
  • Partner with Engineering, Data Engineering, Product, Privacy, Legal, Data Governance, Cybersecurity, Ad Ops, and Performance Marketing to implement privacy-safe measurement, including consent signals, opt-out workflows, deletion feeds, and compliant data flows.
  • Maintain Adobe Experience Platform Data Collection, Adobe Tags formerly Adobe Launch, and Adobe Analytics instrumentation standards across Fandango Ticketing and Fandango at Home web and app experiences.
Qualifications

What You Bring:

  • Strong engineering fundamentals with the ability to write, test, and ship code in partnership with the F360 engineering team, whether building a Node.js Lambda for pixel provisioning, a Python script to validate mobile measurement partner match rates, or automation that supports server-side event delivery.
  • Hands-on experience with tag management and automation, especially Adobe Experience Platform Data Collection / Adobe Tags, formerly Adobe Launch, with a strong instinct for when manual tag work should be replaced with programmatic delivery.
  • Deep experience with CAPI and server-side measurement, including event schemas, deduplication logic, signal quality, and platform feed health across major ad platforms.
  • Experience with mobile measurement partners, especially Kochava or comparable platforms, including attribution continuity, match rate validation, server-to-server feeds, and mobile SDK requirements.
  • Hands-on expertise with Adobe Analytics, including the ability to define, validate, and govern analytics instrumentation across web and app experiences.
  • Working knowledge of privacy-safe measurement, including consent signal implementation, opt-out and deletion workflows, and cross-functional compliance review processes.
  • Ability to translate fluently between Engineering, Ad Ops, Performance Marketing, Privacy, and external studio or vendor partners.
  • Familiarity with AWS Lambda or serverless architecture, or the ability to build automation on top of similar cloud-based engineering systems.

You will be successful in this role if you bring Trust to how measurement data and campaign signals are governed, Teamwork in how you partner across F360 Engineering, Ad Ops, Performance Marketing, Privacy, and vendor teams, Transparency in how you document systems, surface risks, and communicate tradeoffs, Agility in how you respond to evolving platform, privacy, and campaign needs, and Entrepreneurial Spirit in how you turn recurring manual work into scalable engineering solutions.

Bonus points for:

  • Familiarity with Segment CDP, CM360/Floodlight, or advanced measurement methodologies.
  • Experience with incrementality testing or media mix modeling.
  • Mobile SDK experience across iOS and Android.
  • Experience supporting ad tech, marketing technology, audience management, customer analytics, privacy workflows, or high-volume event pipelines.

Why You’ll Love It Here

At Versant, you’ll have the opportunity to work on trusted brands that reach audiences at meaningful moments across media, entertainment, sports, and digital experiences. You’ll join a collaborative environment where your work can shape how teams make decisions, improve operational quality, and build scalable systems that support the business.

This role offers genuine ownership of a measurement domain central to how Fandango’s studio partners evaluate campaign performance. You will have a direct path from the automation you build to the speed, quality, and confidence of future film launches.
