Job description

Adventist Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team as the Associate Program Director for our Family Medicine Residency Program. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in the development and execution of our residency program, ensuring the highest standards of education, patient care, and professional development for our residents. Tasked with working to ensure the success of the program’s aims and objectives, the Associate Program Director dedicates an average of twenty-four hours per week to residency training, ensuring that all requirements are met. Direct involvement in patient care is crucial, as well as continuous supervision of the residents, mentoring, and direct teaching of the residents.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with the Program Director in the overall management and administration of the Family Medicine Residency Program.
  • Provide supervision, mentorship, and support to residents, assisting them in achieving their educational and professional goals.
  • Participate in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation to ensure compliance with accreditation standards and best practices.
  • Coordinate and oversee resident clinical rotations, ensuring exposure to a diverse range of clinical experiences.
  • Facilitate didactic sessions, workshops, and other educational activities for residents.
  • Participate in resident recruitment, selection, and evaluation processes.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of scholarly activities and research opportunities for residents.
  • Actively engage in quality improvement initiatives and participate in institutional committees as required.
  • Maintain compliance with accreditation requirements set forth by the ACGME

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must hold or be able to obtain a valid and unrestricted medical license from the State of California
  • Shall have completed an accredited residency program in Family Medicine
  • Shall be certified/maintain certification with the American Board of Family Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians
  • 1-3 years of Family Medicine education and/or administrative experience
