2026 Fall Co-Op - Bioscience Technology Program - Manufacturing

Hillsboro Technical Operations (HTO) is a drug product and finished goods manufacturing organization responsible for the reliable delivery of Roche's commercial portfolio and pipeline products. The Operations organization at HTO is divided into 2 value streams, which combine to produce millions of units of life-saving medicine every year to patients around the world.

This internship position is located in Hillsboro, on-site

The Opportunity

The Intern will support the HTO Manufacturing Academy in building the necessary operational competencies required for staff to perform GMP work in compliance with Regulatory and Quality requirements.This individual will collaborate with the Manufacturing Academy team and serve the broader HTO Manufacturing organization by driving business process improvements. These improvements aim to enhance operational performance, customer satisfaction, and training capabilities by utilizing advanced technologies (e.g., VR/AR). The role will also involve developing innovative training simulations and integrating cutting-edge methodologies to improve training effectiveness and employee readiness.

  • Support technical development and learning related to process improvements, tech transfers, regulatory compliance, and new equipment/process introductions by creating and/or updating training materials.

  • Assess the efficacy of training programs and constantly improve training processes and structures to proactively address gaps and operational requirements.

  • Develop and document training material to align with GMP standards, regulatory requirements, and process changes.

  • Leverage advanced technologies, such as Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR), to enhance the effectiveness and engagement of training programs.

Program Highlights

  • Intensive 12 months, part-time (10-15 hours per week) paid internship.

  • Program start dates are in Oct 19, 2026.

  • A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.

  • Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

  • Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.

Who You Are (Required)

Required Education: You meet the following criteria:

  • Must be enrolled in the Portland Community College Bioscience Technology Program (Associate Degree).

Required Skills:

  • Strong planning and organizational abilities to handle multiple priorities effectively.

  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with stakeholders of varying organizational levels.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

  • Complements our culture and the standards that guide our daily behavior & decisions: Integrity, Courage, and Passion.

  • Working knowledge of safety, business/quality systems, and quality assurance concepts, including the application of current GMPs in aseptic processing and production.

  • Familiarity with aseptic processing principles, regulations, and industry guidelines relevant to biologics.

  • Experience in designing and delivering innovative training solutions, including immersive training simulations and utilization of advanced technologies such as Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR).

  • Fundamental understanding of scientific and engineering principles relevant to Aseptic Process & Equipment, including isolators, filling, inspection, packaging machines, sterilization systems, and associated regulatory requirements.

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Oregon is $20.00-$21-00 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
